Now wide awake and beginning to feel suffocated, Rachel attempted to stick... out one leg and found it impossible. For one foggy moment she wondered if this was some sort of feeble attempt to prevent her escape from the bedroom. She took a deep breath and tried again, this time shoving her leg with brute force.
