And he loved to hear the gossipy stories about the industry; about how Elizabeth Arden had her racehorses massaged with her Eight Hour Cream to improve their coats, how Helena Rubinstein loathed Charles Revson, creator of Revlon, but also admired him to the extent of buying Revlon stock, and how she witheringly referred to him as ‘that man’; and how, when he launched his male line, Revson christened it ‘That Man’ by way of a rejoinder.
